CLONCURRY UNEARTHED VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE AND MUSEUM
The Visitor Information Centre offers travellers and guest a broad range of local knowledge, town history and up to date travel information. The gift shop foyer contains a variety of souvenirs, travel maps, cold drinks, light refreshments and coffee available; leading visitors through to the museum and theatrette. The museum is home to historical artifacts and displays covering the last 150+ years of Cloncurry history. The rock and mineral display is considered one of the most extensive collections in Australia. The museum pays homage to other key points in Australian history including Burke and Wills, Indigenous Tribal artifacts and Cloncurry’s military involvement. The Museum combines modern resources with historical artifacts to engage all audiences including children with the inclusion of Virtual Reality and Ernst Henry Touch Display.
